3 foods that fight inflammation!

#1. Broccoli. It is a cruciferous vegetable that contains a compound called sulforaphane and sulforaphane actively kills cancer stem cells, slowing a tumor’s growth. Try combining broccoli with spicy foods that contain myrosinase (an enzyme) such as mustard or wasabi. This can actually enhance broccoli’s cancer-fighting properties.

#2 Tumeric. The active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin. Curcumin has antioxidant properties, which means it may decrease swelling and inflammation. Studies have shown that inflammation appears to play a role in cancer. Curcumin has health benefits of fighting cancer cells. Sprinkle this peppery spice on your roasted vegetables or try it mixed in sauteed greens. You will love it!

#3. Blackberries. The polyphenols which are abundant in blackberries prevent cell mutation. Polyphenols are compounds that we get through certain plant-based foods. They're packed with antioxidants and potential health benefits. Along with its antioxidant properties, blackberries block cancer cells from developing along tissues. Add some of this delicious fruit to your spinich salad, yogurt or nibble away on a handful today!

An angel has earned her wings.

Coqueace KoCo Powell passed away on October 7, 2022 in Dallas, TX after a long battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with Stage 3B breast cancer on March 30, 2011. Since that time, she had nine surgeries in all, including a double mastectomy, lymphadenectomy, hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, and others. She underwent three more iron infusions in addition to her six rounds of chemotherapy.
